Ok folks! It's all set! The Picnic Table everyone has been raving about can be YOUR's!

This is a workshop where you pay $20.00, show up, help out in any way you can then take your picnic table home in a custom cloth carry bag.

All skill levels are welcome! The duration of the workshop will be 2-3 hours and we need people with the following skills.

• Operate a drill press
• Operate a Chop Saw
• Operate a belt sander
• Operate a stapler
• Apply glue
• Use scissors
• Sew

If you can do any of these things and have the $20.00, you qualify to participate in this workshop. Look here to see a detailed instruction of everything involved in this project...
When power tools and other dangerous devices are present, no guests are allowed. It's a liability thing. If you have friend's that want one of these, just have them join and RSVP.

    Hi everyone!
If you have not already done so, please check out these two instructables to familiarize yourself with precisely what we are going to be doing tomorrow.
This one shows how to make the table...
This one hows how to make the carry bag...
We need you to do this so we can give you a fitting job at the workshop.
All training and tools will be provided, but if you have safety glasses, please bring them.

I'd love to attend, just to look and see. I currently have no need for a picnic table, but. . . .

How cool! How big are the tables?

    February 20, 2014

    • Marsh

To make it three feet long instead of of two feet would result in a price increase of $7.

Okay, I paid for the larger table! :) How fun! I will ride my bike over!

I've written an Instructable showing how to make the carry bag for this table. Please read both Instructables before the day of the workshop to familiarize yourself with all the steps involved so you can decide what you're able to do best.

So, what if we applied this principle to larger projects - for example, ultimately a house. We all show up and work on a building project til its done and then keep doing it for each other. We learn stuff as we go, and ultimately we all help build community.

do you know if they really teach you?

      February 1, 2014

    • Marsh

Like anything, if you show up enough, you're bound to learn something. I don't think they have an official training program, but the folks I've met there will help you learn something.
