Crocker Art Maker Fair!

Greetings People Who REALLY Build Things!

On January 10th, 2013, from 5-9 PM the Crocker Art Museum will host a Maker themed event at the Museum as part of our Art Mix series.  We are looking for folks to showcase their maker talents and share their creations with museum visitors.  We will provide each maker with a 6 or 8 foot table and a space at our event; we ask that all participants not only bring examples of what they make, but also that they bring something interactive for our visitors.  Whether it is a live demonstration or a hands-on activity, we want everyone who comes to the event to get in on the maker spirit.

If you are interested in being a part of the event, please send an e-mail to [masked] describing what you make and how you would showcase it at the museum.  We may not be able to accommodate all requests as there are some rules about what can and cannot come into the building.

I look forward to hearing from you!

What a great location for a maker gathering. So many more makers could have been there though. Maybe next year we can get a bigger turnout by both makers and visitors. Great to see my burner friends and the SacGeeks. Thank you all for the kudos!
And many thanks to the staff at Crocker. They were wondeful to deal with.

What a fantastic night! This was a fun event that attracted a lot of people. We've got so many talented and forward thinkers in our community it was great to see it showcased. Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with you. Thanks for the opportunity.

So my kids got in for free. They got to make a couple of art projects. We loved it.

I have to work late so I won't be able to make it. :( I was really looking forward to it tonight. Maybe next time.

Do makers have to pay to participate?

If you plan on exhibiting, you should have contacted them months ago!

Are you allowed to bring a child? My son is 11 and he loves going to the art museum. If he found out that mommy and daddy went without him he would fall off his chair. Can you just come as a guest to check out the work or do you have to display your work?

What use being an exhibitor without some spectators. It's not an Amway convention LOL!!! Of course spectators are welcome!

This looks like a fun event. I've emailed the address above and sent a couple of pictures of my work. I guess we'll see what happens from here? Either way, I'm showing up.
