There is no meeting scheduled for Wednesday at Angelica's. I just wanted to send this out for those who know the basic schedule, and therefore don't necessarily check the meetup page regularly. They might not have noticed there is no dancing this week.
Instead, we will be meeting at Lilly Mac's in Sunnyvale for our anniversary dinner at 6:30 PM. This is a non dancing event, as the pub has a talent show that night. If you are interested in coming, please let Michael Murphy know by phone so he can have an accurate headcount for the dinner reservation. Michael's number is [masked]-6062.
This is a Meetup group for everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area Irish dance community. If you are already a dancer, you should join this group to get updates on upcoming events and stay in touch with other dancers.
If you are not yet a dancer but are curious, join this group for the easiest way to get started!
Set dancing is fun and easy to learn; this is not the performance style dancing you may have seen on "Riverdance." It is a social form of folk dancing that is very beginner friendly, but is also engaging enough to appeal to experienced dancers. So whether you are an experienced dancer looking to try something new, or an absolute beginner who wants to give dancing a try, this group may be for you.
The dances are taught by well-known instructor Michael Murphy, whose teaching is welcoming, inclusive and entertaining. No partner is required -- you will find one there! We recommend low heeled comfortable shoes.
