Please note that there will be no set dancing at the Britannia Arms on July 30th. As some of you might know, Lark Camp is coming up and many of the musicians will be attending, so we do not have any to play for us on the 30th.
The meetup group is set up to automatically send out an email reminder every month. I'm trying to go ahead now and set it to not send the reminder for next week, but the controls are limited, so it might not allow this. So please bear with me. If I can't work it out to delete next week's automatic message, please disregard it. There is NO set dancing on the 30th. We will see you the following week on August 6th
I will be out of town starting tomorrow until August 11th. If you have any questions about the set dancing schedule, please contact Michael Murphy, set dance leader, at [address removed] or[masked] .
This is a Meetup group for everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area Irish dance community. If you are already a dancer, you should join this group to get updates on upcoming events and stay in touch with other dancers.
If you are not yet a dancer but are curious, join this group for the easiest way to get started!
Set dancing is fun and easy to learn; this is not the performance style dancing you may have seen on "Riverdance." It is a social form of folk dancing that is very beginner friendly, but is also engaging enough to appeal to experienced dancers. So whether you are an experienced dancer looking to try something new, or an absolute beginner who wants to give dancing a try, this group may be for you.
The dances are taught by well-known instructor Michael Murphy, whose teaching is welcoming, inclusive and entertaining. No partner is required -- you will find one there! We recommend low heeled comfortable shoes.
