Wooden Flower Decoration - Possible project

I just want to get this one on the calendar. I saw a really cool set of wooden flowers on a website. Selling like hotcakes or so they say.....lol $129.00!!! Set of 3 wooden flowers that consist of the "bloom:, dowel for the stem, little block of wood for the stand. That's it. They are painted and then distressed, then painted again, then distressed again so the layers of color show through. My favorites were winter white. I thought they might make a good Christmas gift and you could save about $120.00!!

I tried to pin to my board and couldn't so I will try again and somehow get you a pic or a link so you can see what I am talking about. I am hoping that Meg can get the flower parts for us. I will check with her as soon as I can show her what I am talking about.

More later.

Do we need to bring anything other than our choice of paint colors and sand paper? What grade of sandpaper?

Hi Lisa! I don't know my grades of sandpaper...lol. I would think fairly "light". Similar to what is in the Tim Holtz sanding block. We are just going to paint, sand, paint, sand, a couple of times to distress the flower. Where is everyone? Glad you and Linda are coming. We need to plan for next year. I have an idea that may or may not work for the group.

Check the photo album. I finally posted a picture of the wooden flowers. You can paint, sand, distress, make what color you want, etc. I like the white ones but saw some reds ones that also looked really cool. I think any color when distressed (or not) will look good. I will post a short supply list but sand paper and paint should be the main things.

I think we should do this.

Lisa---there has been so little interest in the group the last few months that I have not tried to find the supplies for this project. I am really not sure what we should do about the December meetup. Other ideas?
