Every human being is working to achieve his or her own set of goals with the hope of finding happiness. Sura 92 points to three traits of people who find bliss and their opposites that lead to a life of misery.

Sura 92 Ayas 4–10

Verily you strive for diverse goals,

 And the one who gives,

And lives consciously,

And testifies to what is the best,

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to bliss.

But the one who acts miserly,

And thinks of himself as separate,

And gives the lie to what is the best,

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to misery.

There is a distinction between short-term pleasure and a persistent state of happiness that is called bliss. The insights in these ayas and their use in contemporary life will be discussed in our meeting.
