Ciao. I've been trying to learn Italian on and off for over a decade with limited results. I could really use the practice in real life conversations.
I'd like to use Italian while on vacation in Italy. I hope to go sometime in 2008
I am second generation Italian-American (and Irish-American) with both my paternal grandparents born in Italy.
My vocabulary is decent, but I am not able to string together the words into anything more than simple sentences like "Ecco il mio passaporto." "Dove si trova l'hotel?". I have no opportunities to speak and just read Italian newspapers.
The Bicycle Thief, Pane e Tulipani, and Mediteranneo are great films. Love all Italian food
The people in this group are wonderful. I see familar faces along with new ones at each meeting. All are friendly and interesting.
Ciao Barry, benvenuto! Torni presto... piacere conscerti. Ciao!
