FYI: Italian Music @ Drom - DANIELA NARDI, PEPPE VOLTARELLI (Sat, Dec. 8)

  • Dec 8, 2012 · 9:00 PM

ITALIAN CHAT invites you to enjoy an evening of world-class Italian jazz tunes beautifully rendered by award-winning musician Daniela Nardi. The Italian-Canadian singer-songwriter will share the evening with the talented Peppe Voltarelli from Italy

"Daniela Nardi is following her recently released debut U.S. album Espresso Manifesto—The Songs Of Paolo Conte with her debut U.S. performance, set for Dec. 8 at New York global music club Drom.

A Toronto-born daughter of Italian immigrants, Nardi’s previous albums, One True Thing (2003) and Rose Tattoo (2008), have featured original material in a jazz-pop vein. As a singer, she was recognized as Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2009 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards."

Peppe Voltarelli is an Italian singer-songwriter as well as an actor.

His show “ Trip, Fathers, Belonging” is a “canzone italiana” show. Voice, guitar and accordion, through the Italian song of famous artists and his own songs, Peppe tells his personal storytelling about his emigration from South to North of Italy and all over the world. His civil involvement marks the way of an artist describing his South with ironic eyes, suspended between disappointment and surrealism. A trip through the famous Italian songs and his own songs that have contributed to make precious his artistic route. A "funny/serious" music journey bringing our attention on the Italian heritage in all the world.
