Stasera era TERRIFICO! We had at least 20 people, including three native speakers! Since the last meetup on January 21, we have gained nearly 30 new members. So, while the economy might not be growing, we certainly are! Grazie a voui per essere venuto stasera e spero che voui potete alla prossima meet-up al fino di Marzo. Non lo so il dato ancora.
Anche (also), a member of our Italian Chat meetup group, Michael Mele, asked me to tell you about two upcoming Italian events hosted by Il Chiostro Inc. (www.ilchiostro.com), his Italian art and travel company. The events sound great!
Both evenings are at the Broome St. Gallery in Soho, 498 Broome St., NY, NY:
Tuesday, March 3, 6-8pm, "Italian Food and Wine" - sample many of the specialty products that make Italy so fantastic, including extra virgin olive oil, prosciutto di Parma, cheese, wines and more. Hear informal presentations about Italian products from Chef Michael Vignapiano and other food purveyors from the New York area.
Tuesday, March 10, "Fiction and Photography" - this evening will be devoted to Il Chiostro alumni sharing their work.
6-7 pm Fiction reading followed by a brief discussion with Marcella Smith, director of Small Press and Vendor Relations for Barnes & Noble Bookstores, about what is selling and what isn`t in today`s book market and what she specifically looks for in a book to be sold at B&N.
7-8pm Photography-Developing Your Personal Style with digital
photography instructor, Dan Lipow.
Each event is free of charge. All are welcome, no reservation necessary.
