SCREENWRITING FOR PRODUCERS

Producers are also creative individuals, shaping stories by interacting with writers and directors. Practice and develop this skill with this workshop, which train producers on how to interact with their writers at the development stage. Each participant will be given a short script to be analyzed as a group. Participants will learn how to identify structure and key plot points within a script, improve the story, and efficiently providing feedback to writers.

PRE-REQUISITE: Screenwriting (Class). *Students should the know basics of screenwriting, including standard formatting and story structure.

WORKSHOP INFO:

• Classes are held at Re/Max 2000 Realty located at 1221 S. Hacienda Blvd. Hacienda Heights, CA 91745.

• Classes are taught by freelance independent film producer, Frances E. Chang. Miss Chang has produced numerous shorts, student films and narrative feature films. She specializes in micro-budget, no and low budget films.

• Classes are offered at $10 per person. No pre-payment required. Payment due upon check-in before each class. Cash only.

• Each workshop will be capped at 15 students.

PRODUCTION NETWORK:

Each participant in any of our classes and workshops have the opportunity to join our “Production Network,” a database of those interested in gaining hands-on experience  and/or shadow a working Producer (or any other member of the Production Staff) on set. Those who join our network will receive first-look, priority consideration for current and future independent film and video projects and private online access to class and workshop materials, such as syllabi and presentations seen in class.
