Open JS: Angles and Angular

The "big data" meetup was great. The general consensus seemed to be that Angular was a bit hit; so let's talk AngularJS and how it can help Data command the UI.

We'll have a better seating and presentation environment setup this time.

Also: there is a crossover meetup planned with the Syracuse group. This meetup could be rescheduled to accomodate if there is interest.

The G+ corresponding event is here.

The presentation for the meetup is here: https://github.com/mochini/angularmeetup; I'll post a thread for the next meetup tomorrow.

Also, I think Jason's idea of finding a way to serve the underserved developers in the community is great. Maybe we could spin off a thread to focus on that?

David Furber just shared this extremely useful post with me, and I thought I should pass it on:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14994391/how-do-i-think-in-angularjs-emberjsor-other-client-mvc-framework-if-i-have-a

This gives some great perspective on AngularJS - in particular, it clarifies why you shouldn't automatically reach for jQuery by default, and it gives a good overview of the "philosophy" behind declarative views and how to carry that out to the fullest.

Here's a link to my favorite AngularJS tutorial, as promised:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9MHigUZKEM

This will absolutely be worth 70 minutes of your time - even for you, Greg. It provides an great overview of Angular as a whole, where most other tutorials tend to focus on various specific aspects one at a time.

It also demystifies a lot of the "science mumbo jumbo" terminology - a lot of things really aren't as "sciency" as they like to make them sound ;-)

G+ event says 7. This one says 5:30. 5:30 sounds more likely to me. Is it correct?

We had so many people last time, I lost track of the names. Who was on to speak/present/demo or extrovert on Angular? I think we had 3 committed, but I'll prep something in case we need a filler.

(This time, I will have proper cups. And more chairs.)

I'm coming too - to hear Greg and to make sure Rasmus remembers to come... :-)

I hope it's alright if I bring along a friend who is also very interested in the topic. If that's inappropriate, I apologize.
