The Netsquared Camp 2013 Cameroon seeks to build a community of techies and members who can actively participate in the extension of the network both in their local communities and beyond. This will be done through:
One week training on web development, fund raising and online Communication for 20 selected participantsOne day conference with the press to mobilize new members for local groups.
Netsquared Camp Cameroon 2013 is a response to the following issues:
Slow penetration rate of the network in this part of the world;Indifference of citizens to ICT matters as a result of ignorance;Absence of a team of techies ready to engage in ICT start ups.
Who should attend the training?
The training workshop is meant for dynamic youths who show interest in ICT matters and are engaged in one way or the other in social activities in their local communities.
We will work in partnership with local NGOs to recruit the beneficiaries in a transparent and democratic process. Interested individuals are also expected to register directly for the program. In the first phase, NGOs will nominate their members. In the second phase, a team made up of local network organizers and independent experts will then create a short list of 20 candidates. Only successful candidates will be notified.
