  • This location is shown only to members

We will meet for Japanese food and friendly conversation :-) Hope to see you there! If you are able to give other people a drive please say so in your RSVP and maybe people can send you msgs to arrange them.

No Show policy:  People who No-Show make my life as an organizer difficult! (Read about it here http://www.meetup.com/japanese-28/messages/boards/thread/6346977 )

People who no-show (or cancel their RSVPs with less than 24 hrs) two times within 6 months will be removed from the group.

I don't know if I can make it today. I am really sorry, I really want to participate but I am not feeling well, so I'd better get some rest tonight. I am just a bit worried to be removed from the group because I have to cancel my RSVP less than 24 hours.

No worries, you are o.k. I understand that these things will happen. I don't remove people after one no-show(you have a perfect attendence record so far, so you are fine). Generally I don't remove people who appear to be making an honest effort to honor their RSVPs. My main request would be that people make an effort to show up. People didn't bother coming / updating RSVPs until I started that policy/taking attendence.

Thank you very much for your message Rolf and thank you Daniel.
I am really sorry that I can't attend the event.
I hope you enjoy the restaurant and meeting people.

Hi guys, I'm on the waitlist, but I'm looking forward to going :D

That's not a lot of Japanese people there…
Maybe next month we should split in two events of 10 people each, roughly one for Japanese people, one for Canadians?

Rather than splitting by ethnicity a better way to describe it would be two sets of members, a "Learning Japanese" set of members and a "Learning English" set of members.

    • Ado

Well, I wrote "roughly" from my phone in my initial post, (wrongly) thinking that was clear enough…

Sorry everyone, I can't make tomorrow.

I just started school and I really should focus on that.

Sorry for the last-minute change to my RVSP.

Will there be a nijikai seeing how dinner looks to be full?

    September 7, 2013

    • Rolf

We usually only do one dinner meetup a month. Usually some spots open up just before the day of the event..

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
