Sushi is the Japanese food I eat most. But I also like yakisoba, udon, zaru soba, ramen, and Japanese style curry. And I've had a taste of okonomiyaki and would like to try it again. I was never good at it but I've also tried making Onigiri in the past.
I've loved anime for a long time and got interested in the language after hearing it used so much. I've also had one or two Japanese friends and loved it the few times I heard some Japanese from them.
I haven't decided to do any formal learning of Japanese yet. I don't have a enough understanding of the grammar yet and I am missing a few areas of my vocabulary so I can't carry on a conversation in Japanese yet. My understanding is strong enough that once in awhile I can manage to watch a Japanese program without any translation. However hearing it in person is different and I can't grasp everything someone says. I'd like to get used to hearing Japanese spoken in person so I can understand what someone is saying more often. I can't do written Japanese yet. I haven't learned Hiragana or Katakana, much less Kanji.
Even if I don't get fluent in the language I'd like to get used to hearing Japanese spoken in person. And also pick up some of the nuances in the language you can't really learn any other way.
I love Anime, the Japanese language, and some Japanese food. I'd like to get used to hearing Japanese spoken in person.
