  • This location is shown only to members

The English Japanese language meetup is on the second Tuesday of each month, UPSTAIRS at the Slug and Lettuce. 日英ミートアップパーティー ~定期イベントのお知らせ~ 日本語で:http://www.eigokai.co.uk This is from 19:00 to 23:00. It's close to Leicester Square and China town. There is good space to chat to people in Japanese and English. It is very informal but all are there to chat. The pub is on Lisle Street which is off the bottom end of Wardour Street (near O Neils, Won Kei and just South of China Town's Gerrard Street). Lisle Street is on the corner where Waxy's Little Sister (pub) is.

Came there for the first time after being invited by a regular, I was definitely surprised how many people turned up. It was a good opportunity to talk with new people (mainly in English as I realised that my conversational Japanese needs some attention), and I even came across some business people. Would recommend to others and attend again. Only slight improvement to suggest would be a bigger venue - although the space wasn't exactly small it felt extremely crowded and nearly impossible to navigate at times, and it's always unfortunate to crash into others and spill their drinks... :/

Nice to see that there was so many people. I would have like to have someone welcome you at first as being the first time, not quite sure what the system was or where to pay etc...
Otherwise good mix of japanese and non japanese natives!

Thanks for coming down. Apologies it was really packed. We are looking at moving more in to the downstairs area in the future. Other than that, we'd have to charge if we moved to a bigger venue, which is something I don't really want to do... on many levels. Great to meet many new faces though, thanks for coming.

There were about[masked] people there. We might need an even bigger venue!

Hey Emiko, glad you got to the flower show. Yes it's fine if people want to bring anything (Japan related!) to the events. Your friends are welcome to chat to people about the research. I'm happy to introduce them to people if that helps.

Hi, Paul and everyone. I'm looking forward to meet you.
My friends would like to meet some of you who study Japanese language for college research. Do help her, please!
