Bonenkai - Karaoke and sushi

It is almost the end of 2010. In Japan, ending and beginning of the each year are the most important events of all. Bōnenkai (忘年会 literally "forget the year gathering"?) is a Japanese drinking party that takes place at the end of the year, and is generally held among groups of co-workers or friends. The purpose of the party, as its name implies, is to forget the woes and troubles of the past year, usually by consumption of large amounts of alcohol. It does not mean that we have to drink at all, but we had a great service and good price on beer and sushi last year at this place that we would like to do it again this coming December.
Come and join us. We would like to know how many are interested in coming first. Last year, we got a large room and we paid about $16 each for all the cost. If we get enough people to sign up by 10th or so, I will reserve a large room again.
And PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL LAST MINUTE UNLESS IT IS EMERGENCY. We need to divide the cost among the attendees. And if you sign up Yes, Please be there for the same reason.

It's been awhile since I've been able to attend a meetup and I had SUCH a good time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I was particularly excited to be in touch again with Mark, whom I worked with in Tokyo years ago, and to meet his lovely wife Reiko. I can't wait until the next event! I wish you all a New Year filled with peace, love, and prosperity.

Hi everyone! Great event! I got busy taking care of the bill and seeing Kari to her car so missed saying bye to everyone. Another successful Bonenkai! Nice work everyone! A bit later I think I'll write down some notes, so we can remember for next year and fine tune the event! :-) Minasan, arigatou!

I am happy that more people are signing up for this event ! But we need a few more people to get a large room with a dancing pole. Please encourage your friends to come too and let me know. And for those who has not come to our meet up event yet, this is your chance to meet our members. We are nice circle of friends. Please feel easy and casual to sign up even though you may not know anyone yet. We will be there to have a good time and end this year in the good spirit !!!

We changed the meeting time to 4 PM. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 pm and they give us good rate for the Karaoke room. We can do Karaoke from 4 to 6 and then still eat Sushi afterwards for an hour in the restaurant !
