"Let's learn Japanese" lessons

  • Jan 7, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

On Mondays our members Shoko and Ikuyo have volunteered to guide us through Japanese lessons!

Location is at McD's on Camelback and 16th St. It has a quiet area and should be a good atmosphere for lessons. All levels are welcome, and even if you are a native speaker (or near native!) you can join in on the fun.

You know you want to communicate better in Japanese! This is a way to do it inexpensively with native speakers! Then we can really make our group even better when we have our meetup in JAPAN!

We chip in for $5 each per hour for the volunteers. I will do my best to keep arrangements current (location, etc.) and give you contact information. Feel free to contact us or leave comments/suggestions. smile

Note:  There are some regulars who don't always sign up so there may be attendees even if none is listed.  If not you may get a one-on-one lesson! :-)

Hi. I know a little Japanese. But it has been 2 years. I want to keep practicing so that I don't forget. Would this be a good event to start?

Hi Vivek! You are good to start at any of our events! This one is basic Japanese. I believe Shoko and Ikuyo base the instruction on the level of the students who attend, so it may vary from week to week. Anyway, give it a try! I also recommend our drama events. We have one on the 19th. These are in Japanese with English subtitles so you can practice your listening that way too!

I would like to start coming to these lessons, but I don't get off of work till 7. Would it be alright If I showed up 30 minutes late every week.

Hi Austin! I think it is ok. Try it once and talk to Shoko or Ikuyo about it when you are there. The only possible issue is if there are no students the night you decide to try it. They may leave before you arrive if there is no one there to teach.
