Introduction
Hello! I have had an interest in Japanese culture ever since as a boy I watched the Shogun mini-series on NBC television.
How well can you speak, read, write or understand Japanese?
Ten one-hour Japanese language lessons in 1992 and I can remember how to give a greeting and say my name :-)
What about Japan or Japanese culture interests you?
Sushi!! Traditional aspects, particularly those influenced by zen values (simplicity, awareness, self-discipline) like chanoyu, ikebana, samurai culture, swordsmanship, aikido, kyudo. Also, kaizen, anime, and crazy gameshows! :-)
Have you ever been to Japan? Where? If not, is there an area that you'd like to visit?
I have not (yet!). I would like to visit Tokyo, of course, and also Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima.
