Annual Satsuki Matsuri ~ Japan May Festival

Japan-America Society invites Austin and Central Texas to join celebration of Japanese traditions, food, and games on May 8th.
Taiko drums, traditional and festival Japanese dances and musical instrument, Koto, the beauty of the tea ceremony, Kendo swords -- all this will bring the artistry of Japanese culture to Central Texas during the fifth annual Satsuki Matsuri, the Japan May Festival.
Visitors can enjoy Japanese food and sweets, Kimono workshop, calligraphy, origami, and Ennichi (Japanese carnival-style) games and entertainment. In addition, there will be a Silent Auction for items such as:gift certificates for Japanese restaurants, massage and spa visits; art collections, Anime goods & conference tickets, airline ticket, kimono; and more!
Organized by the Japan-America Society of Greater Austin (JASGA), the festival will run from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at O.Henry Middle School, 2610 W 10th St, in Austin.
