Details:

Gabe Rothschild spent time off and on working on organic farms, cafes, and other places in the countryside in Japan through an organization called WWOOF (WorldWide Opportunities on Organic Farms) from 2008 to 2010.

He spent time planting and tending rice fields, vegetable fields and working at a cafe in Chiba Prefecture. He helped a family build their house in the mountains in Gunma Prefecture. He worked on fruit orchards in Yamanashi and Nagano Prefectures. He also worked at a cafe and a bed and breakfast in Izu in Shuzuoka Prefecture.

He will be speaking about his time in Japan both in the cities and the countrysides and what he learned about not only Japanese farming but moreover the Japanese countryside and an older, more traditional way of life.
