I teach Japanese at Case Western Reserve University and heard about the group via e-mail from two of my former students, Dan and Brendan. I like to keep up on local Japan-related groups and events, so that I can pass on the information to my students
Reasonably well, but 'shinu made benkyoo shinakute wa ikemasen."
I've visited Japan 5 times. I first went to Japan in 1983 and stayed for one and a half years as an English teacher, for one year in Tsu-shi, Mie-ken and for six months in Nagoya. I also began to study Japanese at that time. I have gone back to visit in 1994, to study in 1996, and to see friends, absorb the influence, speak the language, travel around, eat yummy food, etc. in 2000 and 2004. I think I am overdue for a return visit and am thinking of going again next summer, 2009.
A nice group of people, eager to learn and help others to learn Japanese and about Japanese culture.
Hi Peggy, sorry to hear about your not being able to walk and hike like you enjoyed before. We have people of all different speeds and we try to offer a shorter option of approx. a mile or so when possible. Maybe some days just walking over to the starting point and back to your office will be a good walk for you that day, and you get to socialize and get outside as well! We hope we will see you soon. Have a great day.
What goes around comes around! It's Ron...your cool co-worker from years ago at VGS-West on Triskett Road. As soon as the reference to Japanese was seen, it was obvious who you are. Where and what subject(s) do you teach from 6pm to 9pm during the week?
My email address is: [masked]. Let me know how to reach you. It would be marvelous for us to see each other again!
Hi Peggy! It was good meeting you at the Japanese meetup the other week. And at Guildford House when the speaker was there from another organization--thanks for inviting me in to hear him and sample some food.
