I had an incredible time at this year's Japan Festival. Not only did I enjoy all of the events I watched, but I also learned a great deal. I had never witnessed a real Japanese tea ceremony before. The attention to detail, as well as the lovely kimonos were all wonderful. All of the vendors were relatively inexpensive (I was prepared to spend a lot more money than I did), as compared to other culture festivals I've attended, and everyone was friendly and approachable.

Is there a particular meeting spot or are we all just going on our own...?

I'd recommend a restaurant much closer to the festival. You're likely to have more people interested in going to the dinner if the location is nearby. Possibly Kurumaya or Sakura Woodfield that can accommodate larger groups (unlike Torishin).

Kenji, I'm almost positive that I'll be at the festival, but I don't think I'll be able to make it to the dinner afterwards. Not on the 26th. Fedor Emelianenko is expected to fight that night. Though he has fought an entire career vs the best competition w/o being defeated he doesn't fight so often these days. Gotta watch it.
