Next Meeting

Hey Fellow Nihongo Speakers!

So our first meeting was recently held at Mitsuwa. While I had hoped for a larger turnout we did have 5 members show up. We met and discussed the interests, skill level, and possible future meeting locations with the group.

I understand that with the holidays it is probably a difficult time to get a lot of people in December, so the group decided that we would schedule our next meeting for the end of January. We were thinking of having this one again at Mitsuwa as we scout out and consider other potential locations. So if you have a library with a good sized meeting room and you think it would be good for a meeting please let me know.

The other issue we talked about was how to proceed at the next meeting. As the various members vary in skill level from beginner to fluent, it is clear that simply meeting and conversing in Japanese will be difficult for everyone. So, we thought that having a specific goal or language task in mind for the next meeting would be beneficial. We have decided to start with introductions and greetings - something which is useful. I am thinking that for each follow up meeting, which I am hoping we can schedule on a monthly basis, we can have a topic or language lesson we can start with or focus on, something to help lead the discussion. So please be sure to bring your ideas to the next meeting.

Please let me know what dates or days do or do not work for you at the end of January and I will try to schedule a date that seems to work for the most people.

A big Doomo Arigatoo Gozaimasu to those folks who showed for the first meeting! And here is a big irrashaimase to everyone for the next meeting! Hoping to see everyone there.
