The Japan-America Society of Washington DC has sent out an email with information on how to donate to the victims of this disaster.

The email also has instructions on how to get information about friends or family currently in Japan.

Good post Esther. I already donated to Red Cross and thought it was super easy and convenient. All you have to do is txt REDCROSS to 90999.

Bright House Cable TV (in Tampa Bay Area) has opened Channel 991 for free. Channel 991 is Japanese News in Japanese.
God Bless all who have friends and family affected.

Hi Everybody,

I made this flyer to show my support for Japan. Nothing special...but you can print it out easily at home. Please make some copies and show your support!

Thanks, Akiko-san. It's very elegant--simple, yet makes just the right statement.

I would like to share these with all of you.

The following sites make it easy and efficient to get the money where it is needed most to help the people. For instance, the Google site takes major credit cards, automatically converts the funds into JAPANESE CURRENCY, and sends it directly to the Japanese Red Cross for immediate implementation.

● Google Crisis Response 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami.

● The Salvation Army has been in Japan since 1895 and has field locations in the devastated areas. Salvation Army Japan Tsunami and Earthquake Relief Fund.

● Donation website in Japanese Language

● This site lists various Japanese charitable organizations, each with its own tailored objectives. (i.e. Medicine Without Border, etc.)

● This organization matches your donation Yen for Yen.

Thank you,
