I didn't schedule a meetup for this since it's so far out of town. Just in case someone is anxious to learn the art of Japanese tea ceremony, though, there is a workshop coming up very soon at the Japan House on the campus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola. The teacher is Ms. Nobuko Segawa from Japan, an instructor in the Urasenke school.
Registration for the two-day event is $30. Space is limited, so if you're interested you must contact them before 5 p.m. on the 18th! If I didn't already have two things to do that weekend I'd be VERY tempted! Tea Ceremony supplies will also be available during the event for an additional cost.
It's being held in the International Center/Japan House, Building 71.
