Update as of 11 July 2013: The RSVP is closed.

Hi all,

Sorry for the short notice.

When denc75 organised Food Meetup 46: Ramen Bar Suzuki, I couldn't make it. As a ramen enthusiast, it is a must to try Ramen Bar Suzuki, especially since they have garnered so many accolades, including being ranked "No.1 Ramen Restaurant" in Singapore by a so-called famous Japanese blog.

Ramen Bar Suzuki has just opened a branch at Tanjong Pagah and I was told that it is open for dinner starting this Monday. However, 翠玉 Emerald Green and 桜 Sakura Pink are not available.

日本人メンバーは大歓迎です!

I tried several ramen shops in Singapore, but none of them are similar to what I have had in Japan. I have heard many Singaporean compained about greasy Chinese food while traveling there. Why Singaporean like so greasy ramen with non-fried lard? While I was having ramen in a popular ramen shop at Tanjong Pager, a girl sat next to me told her boy friend that she wanted to vomit. Yes, it is also what I felt. I tried バリ男 in last week's Ramen Champion, also no good.
I wonder if tonkotu ramen changed after coming to Singapore or my taste changed.

Wendy, I was referring to "greasy Chinese food" when I said fried oil. Nowhere in my post did I say "fried lard". Anyway, people like what they like. While I sometimes wonder why people flock to Ajisen, I don't put too much energy in thinking about it.

Sorry, i didn't read your post carefully. On the contrary, I, just like Shingo san, keep thinking hardly why why Singapore. As Ajisen, i used to have it often, but never tried here.
