Please tell us a bit about yourself & why you are joining this group

I have always loved anime and everything about East Asian culture. I can thank Hayao Miyazaki and the film "My Neighbor Totoro" for this; but I would never ask for a better introduction to this wonderful, magical world. I started drawing anime and manga characters my freshman year of high school, and it was my love of drawing that I decided to be a graphic design major at Fort Lewis college. I am now graduated from Fort Lewis with my graphic design degree and am on the hunt for a graphic design job in the city, but it's not as easy at it sounds. So until then I am a hostess at a Jewish Deli. I don't have a real job yet, and I haven't found many people who share my interest in the city, so I thought I could meet a whole bunch of new friends by joining the group. Thank you for meeting me!

Have you ever visited Japan?

Yes I have, and I would say it is the biggest, most wonderful accomplishment I have done in my life. The opportunity arose out of the blue, and I grabbed it as soon as I could; who wouldn't?! I went to Japan to finish up some extra credits to graduate and it was the most magical experience. I WILL go back to Japan some day, no matter what! I fell in love with that magical island and I still think about it every day.

Do you already speak or are you learning Japanese?

I'm still learning Japanese. I took a few semesters at my home college in Colorado, but it was just enough to teach me the basics. When I was in Japan I learned enough to get me around, but I would love to meet some people who know how Japanese and would be willing to help me in my studies. Arigatou gozaimasu!

Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. My name is Jordan. I'm originally from Colorado, but after my trip to Japan I moved to the great city of New York City! I don't many people in the city so I would love to join this group to meet people who share my interest.
