We meet at Saxby's coffee House on Midway road just north of 635. Every Saturday from 12 to 3:30pm
various levels of speakers come along with native ones as well. FYI

I will put this on my list of things to get around to doing. Do we need to RSVP or anything to attend?

I'd be big on something like this. My current schedule forbids me from joining any meetups on Monday, so something during the weekend would be most welcome. I know this is a revival of an old post, but if anyone has ideas to get people together for something like this, I'm definitely on board.

Since there haven't been any responses in a month, we may be best served by starting up a new study group. Shall we invade a school campus for this? I'm in Plano, near 75, so the Collin County Community College campus on Spring Creek would be the nearest venue to me. Also, I wonder if a public library would be open to lending a room for a study group....

Any suggestions/ideas are welcome!

Saturdays are the best for me. as well. I'm most interested in conversation practice, and sharing study techniques for everything from vocab to kanji.

I think this is a great idea. Saturday evenings work best for me. I live in Collin County.

How about we pick an easy place to start out (like a relatively quiet coffee house) and then decide on whether we'd like to try a different locale after we've gotten it rolling? If no decision is made on a location, it'll probably end up being Starbucks, so beware!

As for availability, I'm open for pretty much whatever on Saturdays (preferably within the range of 10am to 11pm).

Hmm... this Starbucks location is very close to 75 in Allen. I've never been to it, but it seems to be situated at a fair spot between Plano and Mckinney.

I can be there between 3pm and 5pm on Saturdays, no problem. I'd probably go every week, using it as independent study time if no one else shows.

I'll be the aforementioned Starbucks this Saturday from 3 to 5, regardless. Same goes for next Saturday. I'll have a little orange furigana dictionary with me.
