Senior Web Applications Developer
Medweb, a leading provider of teleradiology and telemedicine systems, is seeking a Senior Web
Applications Developer to support expansion of its telemedicine, radiology, and clinical screening
products. In business for over 20 years, Medweb has developed pioneering technology in the field of
Web‐based medical imaging applications. Our products make extensive use of open source
technologies, including Linux, Apache, and Postgres. We are located in San Francisco and are privately
held.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Using primarily Javascript, Ajax, and Perl, develop and enhance Web‐based GUIs based on user
interface mockups and functional specifications.
• Provide assistance to technical support engineers to diagnose and resolve issues arising in the
field
• Work actively with other team members (software developers, product managers, project
managers, user interface designers, quality assurance engineers, technical writers, technical
support engineers) to ensure that products are useful and appealing to the medical
professionals who use them
• Mentor less experienced team members through informal channels
Requirements:
• 5 to 7 years of experience developing and delivering Web‐based products to an active user
community
• Strong, current working knowledge of Javascript, Ajax, Perl, CGI, and CSS
• Significant knowledge of Web‐based system and database architectures
• Experience working within large bodies of existing code
• Experience developing for Internet Explorer 7, knowledge of SQL databases, experience with
source code control systems
• Outstanding technical communication skills, including the ability to use both e‐mail and instant
messenger to resolve technical questions and communicate technical decisions.
Additional desired qualifications:
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Experience modernizing older Web‐based user interfaces
• Experience developing a complex productivity tool in a regulated vertical market (banking,
healthcare, etc.)
