Hello there JavaScripters!
Good news... You've been a member of the NYC JavaScript group, a group that has been dormant since 2011. The original organizer stepped down a few weeks ago, and a few of us have stepped up to relaunch the group. We need your help!
Here are some ways you can get involved.
Attend our 9/29 EventYou can RSVP here for our first event, on Monday, September 29th. Come out and meet Rick Waldron and learn about his Nodebot!
If the event fills up by the time you get to the RSVP page, do join our wait list. We'll likely be able to include additional spots.
Sponsor and Upcoming EventWe have sponsorships starting at $500. Sponsor beer & wine at our 9/29 event. Host a happy hour at a bar near an upcoming event.
Host at Your OfficeWe prefer hosts who can provide space for 50+ people and provide dinner and drinks.
Speak or Nominate a Speaker, Instructor or Workshop FacilitatorDoing something new and exciting in JavaScript? Want to demo your work? Have a workshop you'd like to offer? Or, did you see a speaker recently that you think would be a good match for our group? We're working now on a November event, and we'll be putting together our 2015 calendar as we can locate speakers.
Welcome Your new Organizers
- Joanne Daudlier is a JavaScript Engineer at Hook & Loop. She's hosting our first event at her offices. Thanks Joanne! She also organizes the Marionette meetup group.
- Andrew Ingraham is software developer at About.com and a volunteer for ScriptEd. He is coordinating with Rick for our first event. Thanks Andrew! Andrew also helps organize events for the NYC AngularJS Hack Night meetup group.
- Joshua Bedo is a full stack engineer for PINCHme.
- Dennis Plucinik and Chuck Nelson are developers who run their own web development consulting company. Dennis organizes the BK.js and Learn HTML5 meetup groups.
- I am a co-founder of a boutique technical recruitment agency, Clutch Talent. I also organize the Front End Innovators meetup group, and I was the co-creator of NYTechWomen.
Because many of the organizers are involved in different events, you'll often see cross posting of our events across different groups.
Thanks for being a part of this group. I look forward to hearing from you!
Please feel free to email me, or tweet at me.
