Storytelling with SVG and jQuery

We'll walk through some demos of using jQuery to create SVG and how to use jQuery to manipulate the properties of SVGs that are embedded in the page. We'll take a look at some simple animations, etc.

Presented by Lucas Allmon

Lucas is the Creative Director of, a full service interactive firm in Santa Monica where he spends the majority of his time arguing with his computer, since it clearly hears, but doesn't listen. When not doing that, he is in the mountains on his motorcycle, or on foot, and also possesses the obligatory coffee addiction. @lucaskallmon

Javascript Across the Stack

Javascript's popularity has spilled all over the stack in recent years, and that can be an amazing thing for developers. A talk on Javascript on the front end, middle tier and backend of web and mobile application development.

Presented by Temitope Sonuyi

Inventor, Yogi, Technologist, Vegan. Graduated with degrees in Electrical and Computer Science from MIT.  Worked at a number of tech companies, started a few. Studied yoga and interested in cerebral overlap with the work of software developers.

If anyone is interested in the code and/or slides from the talk, here is github repository. I even included the text draft of what I wanted to say.

That's mega cool and right up my alley, please talk with me about it on wednesday. It seems you need to have already been approved to participate, correct?

Meaning ,you have a team but have some holes in it you'd like to fill?

Awesome thanks Lucas! Sounds good. Yes we have the idea teams formed and I'd be happy to put you touch with the organizer so he could learn more about you and see what project sounds most interesting to you.

I'm really looking forward to presenting to everyone!

This won't be a super technical or code heavy talk, so please feel free to invite anyone you know who is a jQuery/SVG beginner, or even has a cursory interest in the subject. :)
