Ideas For New & Exciting Game Meetups

Hi, Fellow Gamers!

I'd like to pick your brains for a moment for your opinions on some different "themed" types of Game Meetups. My thinking stems partially from our recent Munchkin Meetup, where we saw great successes in terms of members willing to come out to learn and/or play a single new game.

A couple main ideas for meetups come to mind. But please feel free to suggest your own!

1) Would you be interested in a Family Games Meetup? These would be sort of the opposite of the games above -- think Monopoly, Clue, Life, Shutes N' Ladders, Trouble, Sorry, Operation, Mouse Trap, and that magnetic rotating fishing thingy. Think of the games you played as a kid and bring one to share! Think of the games we never play at meetups, but maybe could use a dusting off and revival. lol

My only request for this meetup would be that, even though we'd be playing "family" games, this group is still meant for adults. If you'd have kids running around, please speed dial your favorite babysitter before you RSVP.

2) Would you be interested in a Strategy Game Meetup? Consider games like Power Grid, Railroad Tycoon, Settles of Catan, Bootleggers, Colosseum, Nuns on the Run, Pandemic, and so on. We could learn new games, practice those games we might still be getting used to, help one another with tips and tricks on how to stay competitive, and just have fun playing! Think of the strategery involved!

There would be no rules for which game you select, as long as you can finish it up or move it by the time the meetup is over! lol.

Please let me know your thoughts about these ideas. If you have comments or suggestions on how they might be more interesting than what I've stated, or totally new ideas for different meetups you would like to see posted, please shoot me a quick message and let me know.

Thanks all and Happy Mother's Day!
