Next week's meeting, new selections for voting on blog

Hi to all!

We're doing something a little different this month: the official start time for the book discussion is still 7 on Tuesday evening at The Grape. Since there's a light dining menu, at least some of us plan to be there at 6:30 to order and start munching. If you are a new or inactive member and haven't had a chance to read this month's book, the 6:30 to 7 period will be simply social, and a chance to meet and greet. ( I'm not changing the posted start time on the website). Those who come for the social pre-meeting are welcome to stay and listen in on the book discussion as well, just to get an idea of how we interact. Please do indicate when you RSVP if you are doing this. Of course if you can't come until 7 and still want to order from the menu, that's also great and not a problem.

There's been an abundance of great suggestions for February, so many that I don't think it's practical to consider all of them for this month. I posted five on our blog with links. There's also a place to vote in a poll format, no need to register or type anything, just click. etc. The poll is set up so that you can choose more than one, so if you are genuinely interested in two books, feel free to click on both. Bear in mind that the the poll is just to gauge interest, and to vote officially for the next month's selection, you must come to the meeting. I didn't put any of the fiction suggestions in the poll because my thought is that we can have a designated fiction month down the road a bit, and choose from among five or so fiction choices.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it on Tuesday.

Anne
