6:30 - 7:30: Real Time Predictive Data in Motion

7:30 - 8:00: Q&A and Wrap Up

Topic Description: The growing need to analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources warrants a closer look at techniques for processing information with big data characteristics of high volume, velocity and variety.

Predicative analytics historically made predictions about the future based on statistical analysis of information mined from large data stores. These tools are evolving to handle real-time events for use cases such as outage management, fraud detection and customer loyalty.

Complex event processing (CEP) is especially well suited for high-velocity data. CEP can operationalize machine learning by analyzing patterns in real-time to help the business anticipate and react based on business rules.

This session will help you understand the differences between Predictive Analytics and CEP.  We will examine how this technology is deployed in several client organizations to provide more agile, cost-effective and real-time decisions including:

• Analysis of large amounts of complex, unstructured and semi-structured data.

• Harnessing the power big data, social/mobile data stores and BI projects for real-time decision making.

• Predicting events before they happen based on statistics, patterns and rules.

Presenter Eric Roch leads Perficient's national connected solutions practice. He is a SOA/integration, cloud, mobile technology and Big Data expert, author and industry speaker with over 25 years of experience in various aspects of information technology including executive-level management, enterprise architecture and application development. He is a thought leader in aligning IT with business goals including IT strategic planning, process improvement and organizational change management.
