    Hi all,

I am very humbled by your response and comments. It encourages me to work more on the subject, come up with more wonderful talks in future. So thanks and stay tuned. As I mentioned to Jack, let me work on some R interfacing with big data and come back for some time..

Ravi, Thank you for sharing some of you time, experience, and passion with all of us at Big Data Jax. Your presentation took us from hadoop to Presto in a very impressive manner. You set up the challenge of the time and resource requirements of HIVE and other approaches reliant on mapreduce. Then you gave one approach to removing middle layer of mapreduce with Presto (or Spark).

We ran out of time before you demonstrated using R via Presto for the "paradise" of speed. You said you were willing to present that last piece in a follow-up future session for those current or aspiring data scientists. I know many in the group would love to be able to access a larger data set with R.

Katie and Ben will find a date that is good for you and announce it to the group.
