Hello Group,

FYI:  Smooth Jazz is alive and well on Orlando radio!  Check out 102.5 on your FM dial.  They are already sponsoring events.  Lon onto for more info.  It sounds GREAT!

The name has been changed and the tent enlarged.  "Smoothies" are still welcome, but we decided to open things up a little and invite jazz and blues folks who may not relate the the "smooth" label.  There are some other music meetups in town, but these changes seemed like the right thing to do.
WLOQ changed, too.  No doubt many of you are streaming  For those who are looking for a use for the old 103 preset on your car radio, you must check out WUCF-FM at 89.9.  Mark Taylor, formerly of WLOQ, is the new afternoon music host, 2-6 p.m.
Musicians are invited to become event organizers so they can post their gigs for the rest of the jazz community. We know that "playing" music is work -- the result of the musician's investment in lessons, learning materials, instruments and long hours of practice. We want you to get the word out to a self-selected group of jazz fans; better attendance at jazz gigs means more gigs for all of us. You may want to consider alternatives to club venues; as event organizers you could get upfront financial support from the members and know how many to expect at your event!
