Hi everybody! I want to thank to many new members to the site because without members new and old this site and group would'nt be so sucessful!!! I wanted to let you know of a few things I am doing this weekend! Friday night, I will be at "The Vineyard" with my freind and percussionist Robby Lamp for a great show starting at 8pm. Also Saturday night should be a real barn burner as Jillian and I tear it up and the ever so cool Jeffrey Paul's Chophouse in Eustis... these folks are fun to entertain and the food is great, that kicks off at 7pm. Just pop me a line if you think you will make it out so I know to look for you! Have a great Friday and weekend! Saxman out!
Ps...I put lots of new stuff on the calendar as well!
Central Florida friends, fans and performers are gathering to hear livejazz. Whether it'straditional jazz, blues, New Orleans, big band swing, Gypsy, bebop, cool, Latin, soul jazz, funk or fusion, we support and encourage musicians who perform this endangered music. We agree with the United States Congress that jazz is "a rare and valuable national American treasure to which we should devote our attention, support and resources to make certain it is preserved, understood and promulgated."
Musicians are invited to become event organizers so they can post their gigs for the rest of the jazz community. We know that "playing" music is work -- the result of the musician's investment in lessons, learning materials, instruments and long hours of practice. We want you to get the word out to a self-selected group of jazz fans; better attendance at jazz gigs means more gigs for all of us. You may want to consider alternatives to club venues; as event organizers you could get upfront financial support from the members and know how many to expect at your event!
