Jo Fabro Group

The Jo Fabro Group have been making their mark on the Sydney Soul and Blues scene for an umber of years. Playing a mix of soul, funk originals, blues and jazz, the group contains some of Australia’s most renown musicians Jo Fabro, Franco Raggett (Mahalia Barnes,
Deni Heins), Jerry Craib (Bluejuice), and Zoe Hauptmann (Paul Kelly and Neil Finn, Lanie Lane, Wes Carr) & James Hauptmann, (Bluejuice, Vince Jones).

The Group is headed by vocalist Jo Fabro, a powerful and dynamic singer who after receiving training as a jazz vocalist was accepted as a top 10 Finalist in the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, as well as having performed both solo and with the Jo Fabro Group in Tokyo Japan, at the Tauranga Jazz Festival in New Zealand, as well as at many of Australia’s Top venues such as the Vanguard, The Marble Bar, The Basement, The Peats Ridge Music Festival, the 2007 MTV Australia Music Awards, The Macquarie Hotel and
the Manly Jazz Festival and The Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, Hugo's Lounge.
In 2007, the Jo Fabro Group released their debut album of original soul music – Save my soul. This was followed in 2012 by theor second release - Pale Blue Moon
Whether you are looking for Feisty original music, classic funk and soul tunes, swinging jazz or a combination of all three, The Jo Fabro Group is sure to have you dancing in the aisles.

“Anybody can imitate a past style but it takes artistry to work in an established idiom and create something that sounds a bit different…………. and it’s this that makes Jo Fabro extremely listenable.” -Greg Levine
“Jo’s a beautiful singer and a savvy song writer” – Steve Hunter
“A Contemporary Jazz voice with a funky soul edge” – James Muller.

There is a cover charge of $10, I think you pay it at the door and the Subterraneans are on at 9.
