Silver Fabrication
This class offers instruction in techniques such as basic metal forming, cutting, and torchwork as well as guiding you through the design of your own individual pieces.  No experience is nescessary, but even intermediates will benefit from the useful tips this class offers.   Offered Wednesdays 10am-12 or 7-9pm or Thursdays 7-9pm.

Lost Wax Casting 
Learn how to  cast intricate forms such as twigs, trinkets, or other found objects in silver, bronze, and copper.  Make one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork or create a limited edition series!  Beginners welcome! Offered Mondays 12-2pm or 7-9pmStarting June 23.

Intermediate Stained Glass
The Intermediate Stained Glass course allows students with some experience to deepen their glass cutting and soldering skills while becoming more familiar with how glass texture and color affects overall design aesthetics.   Tuesdays starting June 24, 7-9pm.

This class is offered through SCAD's Community Education program, but is offered at the AMALGAM studio.  Click here for more information and enrollment.

Caveman Casting
Caveman Casting is an exploration in casting techniques that have been used for thousands of years.  Learn how cuttlebone, sand, scratch, and broom casting can be used to create unique pieces of jewelry!  Saturdays, starting June 28, 10am-12. Click here for more information

Mom-and-Me Jewelry 
Mom (or dad!) can take our Silver Fabrication Class, while spending quality time with the kids!  Adults learn all the techniques featured in our normal fabrication class, while children (ages 8-12) learn to make torch-less jewelry right along side of the grown-ups!  Please contact us for dates and times!

This intensive course teaches you how to etch intricate patterns into metal. Learn how to take your etching to the next level! Transfer a digital image to copper or brass and create engravings with words, symbols and patterns, or other black-and white, high contrast images. Keum-boo is an ancient Korean technique in which gold is diffusion bonded onto silver, creating a beautiful bi-metal effect. Roll Printing

Bead and Stone Trunk Sale: Sat. 6/14, 2-6pm
March featured AMALGAMarts' first Bead and Stone Trunk Sale, and you wanted more!  Come see the new and expanded stock of our featured vendors, Nadine Lawson of Seven Seas Beads and Nancey Antley, local lapidary artist.  Also, you can use this as an opportunity to view our jewelry gallery and studio and talk with instructors about upcoming summer classes.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Revised Open Studio Schedule:
Since there will be a few weeks between the end of spring classes and the beginning of summer classes, we will be extending our open studio hours.  As always, open studio rates are $10/hr walk-in, with Open Studio Cards available for $150/20 hrs. (a $50 savings!).

Weekly schedule from May 26 through June 22*
Monday:  12-4pm and 7-9pm
Tuesday: open by appointment only
Thursday: 7-9pm
Friday: open by appointment only
Saturday: 12-4pm
Sunday: 12-4pm
