Discussion Topic This Month -- User Experience! Come prepared to discuss user experience in relation to your website. Mike Borschow is leading the discussion.

Welcome to the bi-monthly meeting of the Joomla Users Group! Please join us for a tip & tricks exchange between fans of the world's most popular web development tool!

NOTE: This meeting is on a Monday to avoid conflict with the PHP User group meeting.

All welcome: Novices, tech-phobic business owners and web developers.

BRING: A laptop with WI-FI card to get the most benefit out of the meeting.

LOCATION: Spaghetti Warehouse on 75 in Plano


COST: In exchange for dining establishments allowing us to take up valuable space for extended amounts of time, we require that each person either


  • Order something to eat OR
  • If you are not eating, there is a $5 fee, which is given to the restaurant.

Your Organizer DOES NOT keep this fee. It goes to the waiter/restaurant to ensure that we can have our reservation and a premium location on a monthly basis.

AGENDA:


  • Introductions: The meeting usually begins with brief introductions around the table.
  • Announcements: We usually take some time for announcements about Joomla, Joomla Events, or accomplishments.
  • Topic of the Day: User Experience -- Group Discussion
  • Short Break: Our members are so absorbed in the meeting that we sometimes give them a break reminder to take a short break for trips to the restroom, food, etc.
  • Q&A: Time will be provided for general questions and answers
  • WrapUp, Pay for food (single tickets), Networking, and Planning for the next meeting.

    I am looking for some help on installation of a backup copy of my site on the local computer. I hope someone will be able to help me at that meeting.

    I too am curious about location. As for topic, if we're short on topic I'd be happy to lead some discussion on user experience (those people that come to your web site). While we often engage in helpful technical discussions, maybe we can also share experiences and thoughts with regard to some of the group member's websites ... content, purpose, etc. Just an idea on something we might do to help get to know each other's goals, ideas and websites better.
