It may make more sense in this conversation to explain what is particularly wrong with these hosts. Many of us use them with no problems so if folks could please elaborate it would be more helpful than simply "XX host sucks"......;)

Don't use Godaddy or Hostgator. They are the worse.

Hello Mike Cravens, my name is Luis and I was reading your comment on the FBI on GoDaddy.

You know I join this group to continue learning about Joomla and  your comment seems interesting.

I just have one question, do you have the resource where the FBI says that about GoDaddy.

I will definitely like to take a look to what that government agency is saying about GoDaddy.

Thanks, I sincerely appreciate your answer.

Site hosted on GoDaddy are a lot more likely to be hijacked for Cyber Attacks, according to the FBI.  This is probably because they make it difficult to use a secure method for webmasters to upload their web pages.  It may also because GoDaddy site users are less likely to keep their sites well maintained and tested.

They certainly host more users per effective CPU than some other popuar hosts.  I would imagine that there are some PHP and http response tests that you can run to check performance.

My experience on MySQL response from GoDaddy hosts has been that it is about 4X slower than other mass hosts like Blue Host and Host Gator.

Mike
