I've been a journalist for many years. When I first came to the Bay Area I was a staff reporter for Reuters, covering technology as the dot.com industry got going; an exciting time. Then I freelanced for magazines when my kids were little and then became a reporter for the Oakland Tribune where I won some major awards. I've been freelancing again for the past few years, specializing in long form journalism and grant funded projects. I've been writing for Oakland Local, San Francisco Public Press, Patch and some non-profits like EarthDay Network. I've been working on honing skills in video, data visualization and social media to add to reporting and writing.
Hi I'm Barbara Grady. I cover education for Oakland Local and write for SF Public Press and others as a freelancer.
