This is the 7th annual Japan Nite at the Independent!
For anyone who wants to meet before the show let's meet at the "Bean Bag Coffee House", diagonally South from the Independent at the corner of Divisadero and Hayes, at 7:00:
The show itself starts at 8:00 (doors open 7:30)
Be warned that parking around the Independent can be pretty tight, so plan accordingly.
Young Kyoto college students whose loose guitar style (think The
Strokes) and off-kilter beats (a la Vampire Weekend) will make you
smile, jump and dance.
All-girl trio from Hyogo, featuring members of Hystoic Vein (who
played Japan Nite's US tour in 2011).
Performance trio with Jack playing tsugaru-shamisen (kind of a
Japanese banjo), Shuji on guitar, and "sword-dancing" singer Kaori.
Vampillia ( experimental post-rock and avant-garde metal group brutal Orchestra from Osaka)

Erik, I am waiting for you at the club!! See you soon!
Very sorry, got stuck at work. Probably won't make the pre-show meet at the coffee house, but I'll definitely be at the show.
I'll be there...
