The meetup place has been changed to the CBOE building. Google shows it as 400 S La Salle St, Chicago, IL 60605, but it is also known as One Financial Place. You can enter via the VanBuren (North) or Financial Pl (West, by the horse statue) entrances. The map image at http://files.meetup.c... shows how to get to the security desk. Please, have an ID with you. Mention the Chicago Java Script Meet Up and the security desk personnel will direct you to the room.
The January 22d meetup will be focused on AJAX. We will have an AJAX walkthrough and a Firebug presentation. The final agenda is:
* 10 minutes: Tools of the trade - Firebug
* 20 minutes: AJAX - fundamentals and examples
* Discussion / networking - until 9PM
* Free JavaScript books provided by Oreilly
* Free pizza & drinks

The meeting room details will be added before the meetup. We are booking a room at DePaul University similar to the previous meetups.

Great passionate audience, which cares big deal about the subject. Thank you for the active participation.
I would like to stress kudos to Brian Moshel for his successful recruiting efforts. As transparent they are for the members, as important the efforts are for creating a strong community.

Brian DillardThe audience - and the topics - seemed to be at a beginner level. That meets an important need, but it doesn't apply to me. I think it's awesome that this group exists, and I think the topics were well-presented. But I personally didn't learn a lot. In the future, I'll probably skip or attend each session based on the topics to be presented.

Learned one thing about Firebug I didn't already know. ;-) Looks like the group will start supporting both beginner and advanced presentations, so all levels of expertise will have something to gain.

Travis McWilliamI already had a good handle on what was presented, but was still able to pick up a few things. I am looking forward to future meetings and really like the idea of dividing it into beginner and advanced.
