Reusable Map Visualization with D3 and Backbone by Ram Joshi
Climate Corporation uses D3 overlays on maps in a number of their products. Many online D3 examples contain code that is difficult to reuse or modify. Ram Joshi will give a quick overview on how to create reusable, lightweight components using D3 and Backbone.

Angular Testing by Ari Lerner
Ari will be giving a talk about different ways of testing Angular.js apps. Ari is the author of ng-book, the complete book on angular.js.

Thanks to everybody who came. Ari is offering a discount on his Angular JS book using code 'davenugent' that's good today only at: https://www.ng-book.com.

Also thanks to our awesome speakers, and to Climate for hosting. Feel free to reach out to Crea ([masked]) with any questions about working at Climate.

Last night, I asked Ram if he knew if there would be be a way to render D3 with WebGL. I just found a cool GitHub project that combines D3 with Three.js *awesome*. Here is the link to the project example which displays world climate: http://bl.ocks.org/dcposch/4153053

All the presentations were excellent. Ari's talk on testing was peppered with great aphorisms, like "Write testable code", and "Use Protractor and Selenium to help out your QA staff". I hope the promo code for the "ng-book" is as good as the one for "Angular In Action", which only cost me $24 for both the print & ebook.

I like ruby, but its uses are severely limited. I can never like a language without an easy way to implement async / event loops anymore.

Dave, 200+ people heard about this meeting before me? Where am I missing the communications? Its so frustrating. Somewhere I am not connected. Anyone have a seat to release?

I've used the Yeoman Ember module to help me learn the basics for setting up a new Ember site, and it is really cool! Now that I've also learned how to use Grunt.js, I don't know how I could have lived without it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
