Building a beautiful enterprise web app with components by Ian Johnson
Ian Johnson will show how engineers and designers work together at Lever (lever.co) to build a modern enterprise web application. Lever uses DerbyJS (derbyjs.com), an open source web framework which provides a templating and component system to build in a reusable way. In this talk Ian will demonstrate how various components are designed, built and used in the app. From simple lists to complex calendaring and email flows, easy-to-use notifications to enhanced user inputs, we will examine how to encapsulate code and HTML into elements that anyone on the team can understand.
Ian is a software engineer at Lever passionate about data visualization and application development. For the last couple years he has helped organize the Bay Area d3.js meetup and developed tributary.io to help people prototype d3 visualizations.
