From high performance JS to state-of-the-art continuous integration & deployment

High Performance JavaScript

Love it or hate it, JavaScript is becoming one of the most important languages of the decade, and a huge amount of active effort is going into making it run fast. This talk will explore:
- how JavaScript VMs optimize JS code
- how compile-to-JavaScript languages like Dart, TypeScript and Closure-style JS help you write fast code
- the effect of high-level frameworks and libraries like Node.js, Canvas, WebGL and WebCL on application performance
- how future tech like asm.js will influence JS performance over the next few years

Debug your app in 5 minutes, deploy your fixes in 2: ultra fast web deployments using the right tools

During my talk I plan to demo how I’m able to fix my web application and deploy the fixes in under ten minutes, while making sure I didn’t introduce new bugs. In particular I plan to cover:
- how to make sure no silent bug remains undetected
- how to test your application and why TDD isn’t a magic wand
- how to deploy a web application efficiently
- how to integrate everything in the above, plus version control and a ticket tracker
