It is raining too hard for us to drive in it. Also, we didn't get the information on where to meet you for dinner. :(

If I knew there was going to be flash flooding and monsoon-like torrents of rain, I might have cancelled! Shoal Creek runneth over.

I went to the Omelettry. . .which closes at 6 :-(

    April 2, 2013

    • Bruce C.

Yes, as stated in the description. :-) I changed the write-up and sent email to those who RSVP'd. They just changed their hours last week to close at 5:00.

Rain-out...or meet at Marco's Pizza on Burnet, just south of Hancock.

  • Miriam L

    Sorry :-(

    • Bruce C.

*Scattered* storms, and they end around 5:45pm. By 6:00, it should be 76 degrees and cloudy...perfect walking weather. (If not, it will still be perfect pizza-eating weather.)

What if it is raining tomorrow evening? Are we still going to meet at the Omelet Tree?

    April 1, 2013

    • Bruce C.

It won't rain; this is Austin. If any fluke weather occurs, we can either drive or take the short route to pizza...if there is one. (P.S. Omelettry is the correct spelling, one word. :-)

Uh...it's raining. We might be driving up the road for pizza.

      April 2, 2013

  • Bruce C.

Yes, it's raining, but is that any reason to bail?! No! If it really is too wet, thunderous, or electrically charged to walk, we can still head straight for food. See you all in the Omelettry parking lot!

Weather too flakey, to many thunderstorm warnings

Won't be able to after all...

Does the secret pizza place arrangement come with a fixed price like previous years?

    April 1, 2013

    • Bruce C.

No fixed price this year. That was partly to account for advance ordering, which was necessary due to longer baking times for deep dish Mangia Pizza. This year, we can order individually or team up for pizza sharing orders.

What restaurant shall we meet you at and at what time?

    April 1, 2013

    • Bruce C.

Not sure yet, I'm working on it. Several options each have drawbacks that I'm investigating. I just know we'll start walking at the Om, it'll be a 1- or 1.5-mile walk, and the destination is likely to have pizza.

      April 1, 2013

  • Tammy

We will skip the walk and meet you for the dinner. What time should we be at the restaurant?

    April 1, 2013

  • Barry W.

Oh, I see, we're parking near the Omelettry and walking to a secret pizza place?

Is it pancakes or pizza? Title says one, description the other. :-) I just heard about the Omelettry today from someone else! She said it was classic Austin!

    April 1, 2013

    • Miriam L

We start at the Omelettry and think about pancakes. But, since they are closed, we proceed to walk and look for pizza. Or something like that. (Original plan was pancakes, but the Om changed their hours.) The Om is OK for a place that smells like eggs.

What time will you be at the restaurant?

    March 31, 2013

    • Bruce C.

Depends if we start on time and how fast we walk. For reference, the walk is about 1.2 miles.

      March 31, 2013

  • Aaron R.

Are we walking or eating first?
