The Metropolitan Museum of Art, otherwise affectionately known as the Met, is without a doubt New York's favorite museum- and for good reason. This vast museum holds art for everyone's eye. Into Bernini? Gotcha covered. Do they have Rembrandt's paintings? You betcha. Is it possible you won't find something to enjoy in here? A snow ball has a better chance in... well, you know. So, whatever type of art you enjoy, or even if you're not sure what type of art you like- come out and enjoy the museum with us.
A few of the current exhibits, click on each to find out a little about them:
Artists and Amateurs: Etching in Eighteenth-Century France
The Roof Garden Commission: Imran Qureshi
Janet Cardiff: The Forty Part Motet
Interwoven Globe: The Worldwide Textile Trade, 1500–1800
and many, many more...
And I should take the opportunity to say it's "Pay as you wish," meaning you can literally pay as little momney as you wish. The recommended donation is $20, but if you want to give a dollar, that's perfectly fine. It's not just a great museum, but one you can visit on a budget, as well.
So look forward to good art, good company, and possibly a decent meal after if enough people are interested. See you then!
