44th Street & the West Side Highway, New York City, NY
Let's spend the evening on the Hudson waterfront, salsa dancing to a great live band as the sun sets, with the Manhattan skyline and Intrepid Aircraft Carrier as our backdrop.
Whether you’ve been dancing for years, or want to learn how to boogie like a pro, Hudson River Park’s MoonDance music and dance series is your chance to strut your stuff under the stars! No experience is necessary so don't worry if you've never danced salsa before, this is your chance to learn the basics as free dance lessons are provided at 6:30 by the Dance Manhattan school.
The salsa band of the evening is Nu D'Lux (formerly Nu Guajiro) and they take the stage at 7:00. I've seen these guys play a dozen times over the years and they always give a great performance. They'll play two sets and should end around 10:00.

Directions/Meeting Point ...
Take any subway that stops at 42nd Street/Times Square then walk West to the Hudson River Park. This event can get pretty crowded and it would be difficult to find each other in the dance area -- we'll meet on the Northeast corner of the intersection of 44th Street and the West Side Highway at 6:00, then walk in together.
If you're going to be late, call so I can look out for you.
